EXCEPTIONAL ORMOLU PORCELAIN URN, 19TH C. Comprising a large and impressive gilt bronze-mounted hand-painted porcelain urn, very likely Sevres. The finely sculpted gilt bronze base with draped cloth beneath a socle base banded with a laurel wreath, beneath a leaf-tip support holding a cobalt and gilt-decorated squashed porcelain urn, the sides entirely banded in finely painted scenes of putti with finely sculpted gilt bronze winged putti handles, and rope-twist banded rim. Height 14.5 inches (36.8cm).
