Antique Seth Thomas mahogany veneer pillar and scroll clock featuring a figured mahogany case with turned half-columns, reverse-painted lower tablet decorated with a beehive and the motto “By Industry We Thrive,” and a painted Roman numeral dial with floral corner decoration. The interior retains the original printed Seth Thomas label reading “Brass Clocks, Made by Seth Thomas, Plymouth Hollow, Conn.” The clock is fitted with a brass time-and-strike movement and pendulum. A fine example of a classic American mantel clock prized for its elegant proportions and decorative eglomisé tablet. Condition is good overall with expected age-related wear including scattered finish wear, light scratches, dial and tablet wear consistent with age, and interior dust and patina. The case presents well with an attractive finish, though the working condition has not been tested and is being sold as found. Measures 30"H x 19"W x 5.5"D.
