Description: A well-proportioned American country work table constructed principally in pine. The rectangular broad-board top has gently overhanging edges above a plain apron containing a large hand-dovetailed drawer. Four square legs taper toward the feet, giving the otherwise utilitarian form a light profile. The wood displays pronounced grain, knots, old surface wear, and evidence of insect channels that contribute to its traditional country character.

Retains an old refinished or heavily recoated surface with scratches, abrasions, stains, edge wear, finish loss, and color variation. Extensive old insect channels and losses are visible on the drawer, apron, and adjacent members. Drawer dovetails and edges have wear, small losses, and possible repairs. Top has surface irregularities and possible shrinkage movement.
