Description
India, 18th to 19th century. Curved single edged Talwar sword with a steel blade and iron hilt, the grip formed with a central swelling, short quillons, and a disc pommel. The sword is accompanied by a leather covered wood scabbard, now separated into two sections. The Talwar is a traditional Indian curved saber form, widely used across India from the Mughal period through the 19th century.
