Height:8.6cm(3.39in)Width:5.9cm(2.32in)Weight:80g(0.176lb)This is an overlay glass interior painted snuff bottle of the Qing Dynasty. It is crafted from clear transparent glass, with red overlay glass carved into floral ornaments on both sides. The bottle is of flattened globular form with a small mouth and narrow neck. It is fitted with a twisted copper rim and a bottle cap topped with a round emerald-green glass knob. Landscape and figure scenes are painted on the inner wall on both sides. One side depicts a scholar in a thatched cottage receiving a visitor under the tree; the reverse side shows boating on the river and travellers along the bank. Mountains and trees are rendered with ink wash, and the figures are painted in bright colours, forming a profound layered landscape in traditional Chinese painting style. Inscriptions and seals are painted on the bottle. It combines two techniques: overlay glass carving and interior painting. Well-preserved, it is a fine composite craftwork among Qing snuff bottles, with high artistic and collectible value.
