Modelled after the bronze ritual ding of Shang and Zhou dynasties, it has a plump round body, a pair of upright square ears on the rim, and three sturdy beast-hoof feet. A decorative band of hook-cloud patterns encircles the mid belly, flanked by two parallel string lines above and below, with smooth, primitive and neat carving lines. The jade presents a honey-yellow tone. The surface is covered with earth patina and weathering traces of varying shades, with natural old fissures in parts.
