R-021 South Sea Islands weapons acquired in 1944 on the Island of New Guinea by a U.S. Navy See Bee. Included are a 72" bow with a rattan type drawstring. Bow is whittled down to a point on both ends and has a rattan twisted ball decoration. Four bamboo spears all measure approximately 70" each and have cord attached blackened carved heads ranging from 13" to 15". All are pointed and have various styles of barbs below the point. Darkened designs on the top of the shafts. All are mounted on a 9" x 69" display board. One bottom corner is chewed. Original identification card still attached. About II
