[New Coinage Dalmatia-Istria and Italy] 2 Napoleonic edicts. 6 Giugno 1806- 7 Novembre 1804. Regulation of the value of the currency throughout the Republic.

1. Decreto di monetazione per la Dalmazia, Istria e Passirano. Milano, 6 giugno 1806, dalla Stamperia Reale.

The text begins with the words: ”Noi, in virtù dell’Autorità che ci è stata delegata dall’Altissimo ed Augustissimo Imperatore…” With this decree, the French administration in Italy states that the Dalmatian, the Istrian Department and the Department of Passirano may retain the Carantanian, money already in force before the conquest of these territories. At the end of the text follows a table that lists comparing the ratings of Carantanian and Lyra.

The text begins with with the words: “Considerando l’urgenza di fissare un corso e valore eguale di moneta in tutta la Repubblica…”. Napoleonic decree in which are compared the various coinage such as Double or Quadruple of Genoa, the Pezzetta of Spain, the new Louis of France, the shield of Flanders etc. with Lire of Milan.It also establishes "The only legal evaluation of the country" for some Italian regions, such as the Bologna Lira for former papal countries, Lira of Modena for former Este countries, Lira of Mantua for former Lombard countries and the Lira of Milan for former Venetian cities.
