Britain or America, 19th century or earlier. with handsome paint-decoration, likely early 20th century. baring plaque reading Charles Carman, Bloomingdale, New Jersey. front bearing the name "Capt. Jeremiah Davis Cannon Deck No. 2" a handsome ship in profile at top and on verso crossed flags, all work is well-executed. one handle has early lock attached which is possibly original to the box, the 19th century lock was produced by Preese Padlock, Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
