The book is in good condition, with a number of minor flaws. The cover (app.4.75" x 7.25"), full leather with extensive gilt decoration and lettering, has a number of scuffs, bumped outside corners, and a ghost impression of a cross on its front, apparently an element that was there but is now missing. The spine is straight and securely connected. The lettering is clearly legible. The inside is clean overall, but with occasional stains, both to the edges and to the borders. Most page faces have no notable stains. All the text is unfaded and clearly legible. There are no stamps or other attachments. The only writings are a few numerical notations to the end pages and two ink inscriptions to the second spread. One of these is a gift inscription, dated 1892. The other is the date 1862. The binding is secure throughout, with no loose pages. A number of pages have creases to the upper or lower outside corner. Most pages have no none. There is no notable fade to the lettering, all of which is clearly legible. The accompanying photos are accurate reflections of the book conditions.
