Lot 0548
Circa first quarter of the 20th century. Features blued and sighted 20-1/2" octagonal smoothbore barrel, plain nickel-plated air-chamber, walnut buttstock, checkered at the wrist, nickel-plated furniture including buttplate and cocking lever, smooth walnut forend with side mounted barrel release. The chamber and trigger guard retain approximately 75% original nickel, freckling and blending to gun metal grey. Octagon barrel retains approximately 90% original blue with scattered areas of age freckling. Nickel buttplate still retains 70% original nickel. Buttstock has some scarring on top and had a repaired crack. Forend has a repaired crack running the full length. The original metal is so nice on this rifle, that with some attention and repair to the wood, it would be a very handsome and fairly scarce early air rifle seldom seen in the United States.
