Taino Bifurcated Cohoba Inhaler, c. 1000-1500 AD. Bird-man persona. Shaman were referred to as bird men. After the consumption of the hallucinogen cohoba,using the inhalers, they were able to fly and visit spiritual beings in quest of relevant knowledge. Water symbols around ports and just above feet. Made of marble. Dates c. 1000-1500 AD. Size: 3'' x 1.5'' (8 x 4 cm). Provenance: Larry Roberts, author of Taino Sculpture: Art of the Gods.
