Three strands of encapsulated hair (ranging in length from 1" to 1 1/2") from George Washington, mounted to a photocopy of a Letter of Provenance from noted autograph dealer Charles Hamilton. The hair first belonged to Martha Washington's granddaughter from her first marriage, Eleanor Parke Custis, then passed to Colonel Levin Powell, a close friend of Washington's. Comes with COA's from EAC Gallery and University Archives. Recent auction prices have been in the $1000-2000 range.
