A late Victorian silver and 18ct gold, sapphire and diamond bangle. Of openwork design, the oval-shape sapphire and old-cut diamond line, with rose-cut diamond sides and foliate spacers, to the three-row hinged bangle. Estimated total old-cut diamond weight 0.60ct, H-I colour, SI2-P1 clarity. Inner diameter 6.2cms. Weight 23.9gms.

Condition

  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches, slight discolouration and vrey minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Claws to principal gems show wear and losses, may require attention.
  • Larger rose-cut diamonds are foil back, appear a light brown hue, surface reaching inclusions. Some small nicks/chips to the girdle. Mounts show wear/losses, may require attention.
  • Individual size and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Sapphire is a light medium, very slightly violetish blue hue. Typical inclusions.
  • Sapphire with small chips/nicks to the girdle and facet edges.
  • Estimated dimensions of sapphire 6.4 by 4.5 by 3.3mms.
  • Width (at widest) 1.7cms.
