Banksy (British, b. 1974) After: Do Not Enter Graffiti Rat. Spray paint and stencil on Do Not Enter street sign, unframed. Leading up to the 2011 Oscars (In which Banksy's Exit Through the Gift Shop was nominated for best documentary) Banksy plastered the streets of Los Angelas and San Francisco.
Banksy is an anonymous England-based graffiti artist, political activist and film director. His satirical street art and subversive epigrams combine dark humour with graffiti executed in a distinctive stenciling technique.
