A Roman ceramic lamp with a boy on a dolphin, c. 1st - 2nd Century AD. A very nice scene, the dolphin swims to right with a smaller dolphin above and three cuttlefish below and behind. The shoulder is decorated with grape vines, the nozzle is small and round, ring handle at back and on flattened base, maker's signatures double lines. L: 3 7/8 in (9.9cm), D: 2 1/4 in (5.7cm).
