Description

Antique vase, made of the finest Chinese porcelain. All hand painted and gilt - underglaze Cobalt Blue with polychrome. Floral & Insect patterns throughout and two identical cartouche panels (one on each side), displaying an intricate domestic scene of a young lady in traditional attire with her minor child and a parrot perched on a swing. All against a romantic background of a hilly landscape with trees. Gold trim and accenting. Birds and blooming rose flowers on the smaller panels on the sides. Characteristic Drop Bottle form, raised on a platform, with a ringed, tapered neck. Antique, second half of the 18th century Mandarin Ware porcelain. Chinese in origin from the Qianlong Emperor Period (1735-1796). Measurements: Approx. 9" tall, 4.5" diameter (across)
