Signed L & JG Stickley 2 Drawer Desk antique mission oak Arts & Crafts Movement measures approximately 29.4 inches high x 48.2 inches wide x 30.2 inches deep, Handcraft clamp decal in right inside drawer bottom, wooden dowel pins, arched corbels, figure eight underside screw grommets, we have not removed top edge paint to see if splined but since an early decal we suspect it may be.
As discovered in a Tampa Bay bungalow neighborhood near St. Petersburg, Florida. Painted, as found, as is. No major defects visible but since the insides of the drawers have some stains one might assume the top will show use as well. Note that the yellow rectangular areas have cut corners and we we belive they are shadows of 1950s vinyl placemats rather than water stains but that is yet to be determined. Copper hardware handsome and right inside drawer bottom Handcraft decal worn but legible. Note in last detail image a round recessed spot on back left side leg - we assume this is an original wooden construction pin that has recessed then been covered in paint however sometimes added screws that are counter sunk have a similar appearance once painted - all part of the discovery process if one chooses to refinish it. Has painted over screw grommets underneath top. If you've ever been attracted to painted furniture but can't bring yourself to painting a period item here's your chance for shabby decor pleasure without having to do it yourself! Almost a Secessionist feel in its patinated austerity.
