Matteson Type Painted Dome Top Box

An early 19th century American Federal "Matteson Type" dome top storage box from South Shaftsbury, Vermont. Basswood construction features a lift-top with interior dust moldings on a dovetailed body.

A 19th C. painted dome-top box with fruit painted decoration, iron lock (no key), and wallpaper lining. 7-1/2in tall x 12-3/4in wide x 7-3/4in deep.
