First class operation. Johnny on the spot getting back to you if you have a question.
I liked some of their auction where you could watch them live (streaming) and be on-line bidding at same time. Saw a couple like that but they may have discontinued it as I didn't see it last two auctions. Nevertheless, they go out of there way to help me. I don't live in Austin but my grandson does. They took good care of him when he picked up my winning bids for me. They even loaded them in his car for him! I appreciated that.

The shipping is very difficult and VERY VERY expensive.
Overall the experience is good it's the shipping that ruins this process.

Dear Sir, Thank you for your comments and feedback. Per our terms, AAG does not ship. We do suggest 3 to 4 shippers for small items (and blanket wrap movers for furniture) so that one may obtain the best shipping price, however we are not affiliated with any of the companies. A buyer is free to choose any shipping company that fits his/her needs. The shippers that we suggest have the auction catalog 2 weeks to the sale so that one may obtain quotes prior to bidding. That way if the prices seem high, other arrangements may be made. We also suggest a quote from each as they are competitive. We have no control over the shipping price, however I will certainly speak with them to be sure that they are not gouging. Again, I appreciate your feedback. Thank you.

One less thing to worry about
I participated in the last auction and bought an item. I haven't been able to pick it up yet due to a death in my family and being exposed to the coronovirus, and they haven't nagged me to pick it up. I can't tell you how much I appreciate that. Good Descriptions and Pictures. Shipping Costs Are Exorbitant.
I had a good experience "Overall", especially with the large painting. The unfortunate thing, is, because I purchase "A Lot" of smaller art, while choosing bigger paintings, I didn't open the envelope, that contained 3 charcoal/ink drawings, as I only stacked the envelope, with the other envelopes, of the same type. This is my own fault. I looked at the large painting and was thrilled, so I just didn't open the mailer. Several months later, I got some frames with glass, and decided to see how the 3 pieces would fit. I opened the mailer and found only the two small pen/ink drawings. The large charcoal, that would not have fit in there without folding it, was missing. I emailed the auction house, admitting what I found, knowing the response I'd probably get and got what I expected. I suspect, the shipper put the larger charcoal into another mailer, that "never arrived" at my door. When I owned/ran an import company, who did over 3000 packages a day, I could have spoken to "My Representative" and gotten such a small thing covered, even after this late, but I don't expect that level of commitment from others, as it is both rare and tiresome to be that way. Overall, a good auction house, but just make sure you check the small stuff closely. I would buy paintings there again, but have to "Double Think" the shipping fees, as they are exorbitant.

Your email regarding this lot was received Sunday March 1, 2020 and answered on Monday March 2... almost 6 months after the purchase was made. We extensively checked our gallery on the off chance that the piece was left behind by the shipper, however it was not found. With regards to your comments on shipping fees, we do provide feedback to the suggested companies and will do so in this case. I am very sorry that I cannot say what happened to the piece after it left our gallery and I sincerely wish that the delivery had been opened when received. Accuracy of Photos
Items had breaks and items were falling apart! Console Table had to be completely torn apart and re-glued and re-braced. The mirror was in horrible condition the mirror needed replaced and the crest was all broken and falling apart. The desk drawers don’t open on the right side. I would not recommend going off photos only with this Auction house. They are very inaccurate.

Dear Sir, AAG strives to present the best description and photos possible on the antiques and decor that we offer. We have never and do not alter or doctor our images to make items look better. We also provide more images than most auction houses to show the items from all angles. However, we do sell over 1, 000 lots of 18th to 20thc. furniture and decor per auction and while we do have a quality control process, ideas on condition vary and occasionally items are missed. That is why our auction house (and most others) urge each and every buyer to ask for a condition report. This is listed in our terms and conditions as well as in each lot. We gladly answer hundreds of questions and provide additional images on any lots of interest for two entire weeks prior to each auction. We also hold inspection of our auctions Wed-Sun if you are local. We want our clients to be happy.
