While we maintain all shipping in house, when it comes to oversized or overweight items such as a full size pedal car, it is beyond the scope of ordinary shipping for our crew to safely prepare. While a smaller pedal car could theoretically be sent within a large double layered cardboard box, a large piece like this requires a custom wooden crate to ensure it will travel across the country unscathed. We did originally contact a local freight company to handle this for you and after several follow up attempts last week, they ironically came back to us this afternoon with an absorbent $845 for crate and freight which seems quite high. Despite the inconvenience it caused you, we are happy you were able to arrange the pick-up of the pedal car to be hand delivered for safe travels. The third party carrier did not arrive until 7:30pm on a Friday evening despite or office closing at 5pm. But we were happy to accommodate them knowing that the car would not be damaged in transit.
