I was a bit worried about shipping costs as I only wanted to buy a small print. They did fail to return an emailed request for a shipping quote, but I sent it just a couple days before the auction when I'm sure they were too busy to respond for such a small value item. I went ahead and purchased anyway since the reviews were so good and was gratified by the choice. The shipping cost was very reasonable, especially given the spectacular packing job. Everything else about the transaction was fantastic.

These people take care of you, no question about it. They are the "poster child" of excellence in the auction business!

We do a great deal of auction house buying and this is one of the absolute best. First, they Invoice promptly and accept credit card payment without fees allowing for speedy payment. Second, they ship in house. It is an entirely hassle free experience. Third, they do so very, very quickly. To be clear, we buy artwork so it comes commercial carrier, but that they deliver should you buy something larger is exceptional. I have not found another house offering the same level of service. I wish others would emulate.

This was my first time bidding on items at California Historical Design. I won three lots, including a pair of buffet lamps with fragile glass shades. The items were all very well packed and they arrived across the country within the week, in perfect condition.

These guys were honest and kind and felt like old friends right away!!! Can’t wait for their next auction!!
