Great Auction House with Great Items!

Did not accurately describe damage and I asked specifically! 3 out of 8 pieces were worthless! I am an internet dealer... if I sold like that I would be banned from sites! They need to give more info and better photos,,, photos were all re touched.

The local shipping options were ridiculously expensive. I was quoted $140 for a ledger sized unmounted Japanese print and small box.

Trying to find the right parties to figure out how to pay for auctions won and for shipping was difficult to understand.

I really consider whether or not I want something in a Turner auction. Anything I want can't be heavy or large-shipping will kill me. The auction house may not be able to do anything about the costs of shipping at their recommended shipping services, but they are outrageous. I bought an item that could easily fit into a USPS flat rate large box for $15 (ship and know prices). Their independent shipper wanted nearly $60, then lowered the price when I said it was too high. I eventually went with a UPS shipper that was way more expensive than it had to be. Also, having to send a shipping release is a pain because it has to be done within a very short time frame. No other auction site I purchase from demands this type of paperwork. Again, I think long and hard before I bid a Turner auction. One contact listed on the Turner website isn't viable at all.

The description failed to include that the condition of one of the items was poor: The old leather was very, very stiff when it should have been supple. My fault for not calling to ask about condition, but something that important should have been included in the description. Also, I feel that the outside shipper (Pak Mail) charged way too much for its services and shipping, and it took longer than I thot reasonable for the items to arrive here.

I had several emails with your train expert, questioning whether the locomotive had been painted over. In his opinion, it had not. After receiving the piece, it is obvious the piece has been painted over original lithography. Shipping took almost one month from day of payment until receipt of merchandise.

In general it’s a pain when I have to contact shipping separately from auction house. I’m paying more attention to that and maybe not bidding on those items. This is not specific to this auction house.

Buyers Premium is was Stupid HIGH, to the Point of Being ROBBERY, and They Partially Blamed "Live auctioneers for the COST!... NEVER will buy from this auction House AGAIN

Packing and shipping charges were high. I purchased two trains at a different auction two days earlier. The ten pieces of those two trains cost me $55 for packing and shipping. This auction cost me almost $75 for one train, 5 pieces.

Auction fee, to buyer, is quite high, compared to many auction houses that auction strickly train collections. I seldom buy from auctions (prefer eBay) even though the auction company item winning bid is slightly lower then an identical ebay item-the buyers fee charged, the packing cost charged, is exorbant. Most always the item cost more then if I had purchaed it on ebay.

Stout auctions is good to deal with, but Turner auctions is tops!!! I am impressed with Derrick, his wife Jennifer, and all concerned. The photos are outstanding. They also have a great advisor for describing the items. My reference is to the last three toy train auctions.

I missed the link in their email that allows me to pay online, so I paid over the phone from Australia. Good to see they are trying to streamline the process-well done Turner Auctions. Ill use the new process next time! I'm am however, struggling with the shipping company they recommended-my item hasn't left the US yet for its 3 week delivery. I think the shipping company is used to shipping large commercial jobs not small auction items... 1st quote was 3x more than what USPS charge! NOT Turner Auctions fault at all-they have been great!

Turnar indicated in the lot 161 description is KESI painting, so I bought it and paid lot 161. the piece turn out is printed, not antique KESI painting instead printed painting. I feel have been cheat it. I want return to the vendor and refund.

the property is severe damage, no clear photos show section view on that arear of damage. very poor description.

Packing was wonderful but charges for shipping was way overpriced!

I can not access live bidding since I updated my computer. I am not a young tech savvy guy. So it was nice while it lasted.

shipping is problem, after purchase shipper ask unreasonable high price for shipping if I do not pay then auction house does DISPUTE against me. I hope Wilton Gallery and Sterling associates take off dispute against me, I have dispute against them because they did not provide reasonable shipping.

Sorry, I can't tell you anything about the items-it is over three weeks and I haven't seen anything yet. Paid in full within one day, still waiting for delivery. Very, very slow process.

The purchased books have not shipped yet. Even though the shipping has indeed been paid. But there is communications.

I purchased two (TWO) books for a total of $125. I contacted their recommended, in-house, shipper. He wanted $65.00 to pack and ship these two books. I am not paying over 50 % of the purchase price to ship. USPS book-rate would be less than $10. As if this date I have not received my books that were paid for last month. My last phone call with a lady at the auction house was completely un-satisfactory. Her position was that getting my purchases from them shipped was my responsibility and swiftly hung up! If reasonable arrangements cannot be made to get me what I purchased I will require a refund... if not, I will contact the Colorado States Attorney General for fraud against a senior.....

I would appreciate a cash/draft payment option with a commensurate reduction in the buyer's premium. Also, where more than one item comprises a single lot, each item should be thoroughly photographed.

The item in question is a Navajo rug. The problem is that the rug underwent considerable fading on one side due to exposure to the sun. It is very obvious. There was no mention of this in the description/condition and the pictures of the faded side were taken to conceal the fading.
