I was surprised that they did not use Liveauctioneers to notify me that I had won one of my bids. They emailed me directly the following day. Pick up and payment of my winnings was accomplished easily. Their auction site was only 20 minutes from my home.

The sculpture (s) I asked about were not very well specified on the descriptions but the person who answered showed no interest in giving any info. I did chose to bid and win one of the pieces (would have bid on more if they had been more helpful) and the shipper found that the description wasn't very accurate either, having to increase his estimate by 25 %. Not impressed with the whole thing.

The Descriptions and Attributions are some what lose. The Condition Reports are vague. If you’re not an expert in the material you’re bidding on-Don't buy it here.

Auction house did not accept credit cards for payment yet charged a very high premium as if they were being asked to foot the credit card percentage. So thought their take plus NY tax came to over 32 % on my item was high. But I am pleased with my item.

I did ask at least three times for registration for live auction bidding and they did not answer at all and I missed the lot 1292. I made the absentee bid of $500 but I was unable to bid on line live to get the item. I believe you should investigate my case and report the finding. Very poor experience

The worst experience I have had with any action house. I purchased a second time and used a different shipping company to give them another opportunity. I never never use them again. Terrible customer service. Inaccurate photos. Both shipping companies caused damage to items due to poor packing.

I contacted the auction house the day after the auction and made plans to pick-up my items 12 days after the auction. Whitney informed me that would be fine and told me she made a note detailing the pick-up/payment plans. I was surprised to find that the auction house posted a dispute with me as I was told it would be acceptable for me to complete my transaction on the 12th (not 10th) day after the auction. Once the payment/pick-up occurred the dispute was immediately posted as resolved and other than my confusion about the posted dispute, I have always enjoyed Clarke auction house and my interactions with them.

This transaction was a nightmare for me. First I bid $125 then I was bumped up by the system to $150. I called Rolland to see if they could help me but they said they could not and said I would have to resolve the matter with Live auctioneers. Messaged live auctioneers and said they would get back to me.... they never did. Contacted live auctioneers again and they were able to tell me almost immediately that a live bid came from the floor before mine and that they were not able to change it on their end. I decided to settle the matter and go to New York City to pick up the item and pay the full price. I arrived at the auction house during normal hours of operation only to find the store closed. I later received a phone call from the auction house saying that the piece had been sent to a shipping company in the Bronx and that I would have to make arrangements for shipping an item to New Jersey for the absurd amount of $40 dollars. I had told Rolland auction house several days earlier that I was contending the bid with Live Auctioneers and was waiting to hear from them.... they sent the item to the Bronx anyway. Called the Bronx USPS shipping store and I asked them if they could ship the item to a local USPS store across the river for a discounted shipping cost. USPS said they would call me back... they never did. Called them back later that evening, left my message and phone number and received no return reply. Long story short... I give up. I feel that if I continue on in this matter I will be run over by a car while trying to pick up the package at the USPS store. Again... I give up. This was the only time in my experience i had a problem with live auctioneers or an auction house.

Their referred shippers were expensive and some never returned quotes. I went with one not on their list. Also sellers should always post a close-up photo of any damage, but at least Clarke did describe it which some don't do.
