A Great First Impression!
Team@ Winter Associates very helpful and professional-I shared that I was very nervous concerning shipping (which was yes, pricey)-but their preferred shippers came through-the foam technique is brilliant! My art arrived unscathed. My first time with this auction house was a success..... We all know what that means, right? In addition Winter included booklets on the artist-an extra I did not expect and thank-you.... a nice touch!

I enjoyed working with Winter Associates.
Winter Associates were very helpful. They promptly returned my phone calls, made payment a snap, and suggested a shipper that did an outstanding job. A Masai shield is no easy item to send across the country due to its size and shape. The shield arrived in perfect condition and took fifteen minutes to unpack a custom made box filled with blown protective foam especially molded for the shield's shape. Very impressive. Had they shipped a grand piano, I'm confident it would have arrived in the same condition-although my wife by then would have murdered me.

Took a long time to get!
This item took over a month to get! I had to make numerous calls to the main company. They gave me the number of the seller finally. Excuses were made. It wasn’t shipped out until I put pressure on the seller. I recently bought something else. I paid for it (from another seller) and never got it! Was my winning bid too low for them? Just keep the money and don’t ship it! I eventually got my money back. It is now 2 for 2 that I have had trouble getting! I will NOT be using live auctioneers again! I’ve learned my lesson!

Good morning, We are sorry for the issues you experienced, but I do believe that you are possibly confusing Winter Associates with another auction house. You have purchased with us once, which was during our December 14th auction. Winter Associates does not handle shipping in-house. All shipping for our December 2020 auction was handled by the Farmington UPS Store. After we were made aware of the shipping issues you were having I spoke to the UPS Store directly in order to assist in clearing up the matter. Also please know that we are no longer using the Farmington UPS Store due to some of the issues our bidders have experienced. We appreciate your feedback. Sincerely, Corinne M. Will one of your lots get lost?
I have been an art dealer for 35 years. I dislike writing negative reviews, but in this case I have no choice. I purchased two lots from Winter Associates. They did not provide any shipping alternatives, but routed all lots to UPS store 3937. My lots were shipped in a package entirely unsuitable and not in compliance with UPS's art packing guidelines. Worse yet, only one lot was in the package. It was clear that the other lot, worth over $500 was not placed in the package. The auction house bears responsibility, as they provided no shipping options. The UPS store bears responsibility because they failed to pack one lot and violated UPS packing guidelines. The UPS store wasn't even willing to look for the lot and now they do not respond to communication. Neither the auction house nor the UPS store are willing to take responsibility. The UPS store is trying to file a claim with UPS, but since they didn't ship the lot, and also violated UPS packing guidelines, I don't believe UPS has any responsibility. Sadly, I will never do business with Winter Associates again and I am filing complaints against UPS Store 3937. This isn't about the money, although $500 is significant. This is about being responsible and doing the right thing. That is the foundation of any successful business. Very sad that original works of art were taken, lost or mis-shipped. Sad indeed.

We were very sorry to hear from this buyer that his shipping did not go smoothly. A summary of our actions are below. 7/20/21@ 7:44 pm First notification received via email from buyer that there was a problem 7/21/21@ 8:43 am Replied that we would investigate. We reached out to UPS immediately asking for follow up on their end and then responded to buyer before 10 am that UPS would investigate. 7/22/21 Buyer told us he received UPS correspondence. We thanked buyer for keeping us informed. 8/6/21@ 5:16 pm Friday night buyer emailed UPS and cc’d us that he was waiting for results of investigation. 8/10/21 Tuesday buyer put in a review that he was having a problem with UPS. 8/10/21 After we saw the review, we again contacted UPS telling them that this situation was not acceptable. Based on our conversation, UPS informed us they would compensate the buyer. 8/11/21 We were informed by UPS that they told buyer they were paying him in full, not waiting for UPS investigation. 8/11/21 Buyer does not acknowledge the efforts Winter Associates has made on his behalf and has left this review in place. We are happy to work with any shipper/freighter a client chooses and have worked with a wide variety. It should also be noted that in our conditions of sale we state: SHIPMENT/TRANSPORTATION recommendations or arrangements are done only as a courtesy and all shipping/transportation is at buyer’s expense. Winter Associates, Inc. assumes no responsibility to resolve problems that arise from shipping or moving companies. “I'm the owner of The UPS Store 3937. I take full responsibility for the missing items that were shipped from my store. I refunded the customer the full amount for the missing item. The customer was pleased and satisfied with my actions. With that said, this bears no responsibility on Winter Associates. "

Much delayed and expensive shipping
Seller used local UPS store to both pick up and ship rug. After taking my credit card data UPS store did not ship rug until I called them again 10 days later. UPS charges for shipping a small (2'6 "x 3'6") wool rug weighing less than 10 pounds came to $74.26, more than 50 % the price of the rug, and only involved wrapping rug in plastic bag and putting in a modest cardboard box. Dealer needs to take better responsibility for shipping to their customers.

Great Auction House with Amazing Customer Service!
I am very happy with Winter Associates and the two items I won in their auctions. I especially appreciate their great customer service. Very helpful, and their UPS shipping affiliate was extremely responsive, as well. My glassware was VERY well packed and I am pleased with the entire experience.

Angry unprofessional staff
Ms. Stamm is a compassionate owner who epitomizes professionalism. By contrast, however, her office manager, is rude, abrupt, terse, and unlikable. She doesn’t identify herself over the phone, even though she’s handling sensitive credit card details and her emails have a menacing aggressive tone. When I brought this information to the attention of Ms. Stamm, Corrine’s attitude did not improve, but to the contrary. It’s truly a shame that Winter’s front-line rebuffs, rather than embraces its customers, which will inevitably lead to the decline of business.

Our goal is to always have a satisfied customer. The auction Ms. Macpherson participated in was a successful one and we were communicating with over 200 purchasers in the week following the sale, many of them first time customers as this was the first time we used LiveAuctioneers. Our goal was to be professional and efficient and to process items for shipping as quickly as possible. We have standardized letters to inform purchasers of their success at a sale and they were used in this instance. Corinne has been a valued member of our staff for many years and understands and practices our goals of courtesy, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. We had the opportunity to speak to the customer and we apologized that she was unhappy with her interaction with us.
