Never received my items
NEVER RECEIVED ITEMS, FedEx fraudulently signed for my items and I never got them, Kaylene at Davis Brothers is no help!! I had to beg for her to file a claim. FedEx Shows that there was a signature that was not my signature, and I have sent numerous items of documentation as proof I never received the items and it’s not my signature and not delivered to my house. I called FedEx who said that Davis Brothers needs to file a dispute but I can’t get them to respond or even care that my $2000 is missing. I have contacted my attorney about suing for the refund. I would not trust them with anything over $100 because if something happens to your items they basically tell you to F off. I work hard for my money and can’t afford for $2000 to just disappear. I made sure I did my part and paid right away but they refuse to do their part and file the dispute to get me back my money. Kaylene is downright rude and wants to put the blame on everyone except herself for failing to make sure my money gets returned. I am glad I don’t run my business the way they run theirs. ALL I CAN SAY IS BEWARE!!

Never Again
I won a POSTCARD for $20. Davis Bros. charged me $25 for shipping! I paid for the postcard and told them to throw it away... They refused to simply put it in an envelope and send it with a Forever stamp... I buy from auction houses all over the world and this is not a "friendly" place to deal with.

Davis Brothers AuctionFeb 22, 2026
We do not ship auction purchases with a stamp. All orders are professionally packed and tracked. If that doesn’t work for you, please do not bid.

Unethical, lies easily disproven in Live Auctioneers archives
Completely unresponsive until negative review, then response contained lies about the listing, although they admitted they do not reply to communications. CAVEAT EMPTOR

Davis Brothers AuctionFeb 22, 2026
We disagree with both the characterization and the facts presented in this review. The item in question was clearly marked in both the title and the description as restricted to Montana residents only due to federal and state regulations governing interstate transfer. This was not a preference or policy choice on our part, but a legal requirement. We proactively contacted the buyer immediately after the sale to offer two lawful options: shipment to a Montana address or in-person pickup with valid Montana identification. At no point did we refuse to communicate. Our position remained consistent because there was no legal alternative available to us. The buyer’s prior experiences with other sellers or other states are irrelevant to our obligation to comply with the law. We regularly refine our listings to make restrictions even more visible, as responsible auctioneers should. Protecting our business, our consignors, and our licenses is not “unethical”; it is mandatory. We regret the buyer’s frustration, but we will not violate the law to accommodate a transaction that cannot be completed legally.

Sent me a broken item-Didn't rectify situation
I ordered 2 items from them. Both small Zuni fetish animal carvings. One was great, perfect condition, the other had a broken foot. I didn't see the foot in the packaging unfortunately so it must have broken before it shipped. I contacted them and sent photos to see what could be done. Other than the broken foot I still liked the carving and wanted to keep it. I thought perhaps I could get a partial refund or credit towards another auction, etc. They didn't really even ask me any questions or return my email. I just got a random return shipping slip in my inbox when i didn't even want to return it. I felt like they didn't care. No even a "we're sorry. What can we do to fix this?" or even a "thank you for letting us know, we'll try to fix this for future customers."

Still no item.
Purchased Jan 10 and still no product. Will update the items accuracy upon receipt. No response as to product history/previous usage.

Davis Brothers AuctionFeb 11, 2026
This review was posted before the shipment was even outside standard carrier transit time. The item was purchased on January 10 and shipped within our stated processing window. Once a package is in transit, delivery timing is determined by the carrier, not our office. Tracking information was provided at the time of shipment. As for “product history,” all available information was included in the listing. Auctions sell items as acquired, and we disclose what we know. We encourage buyers to allow standard transit time before posting premature reviews.

Extraordinary Shipping Costs w no Customer Service
I’m a reasonable person but when shipping costs came in at 73.00 for a 30.00 item which is of decent size, sturdy material but lightweight, I wanted to have a brief conversation in terms of shipment process to see if we can could approach the pack/ship process differently. What I anticipated being a $60 purchase, ballooned to $120. Customer service robo # redirected to email. I sent three emails in a four day window well in advance of shipment and never received a response. Upon arrival, the packaging was quite large and unnecessary relative to the item itself. My take is the auction house or their 3PL decided to make money on fulfillment disproportionally because of the sale price.

Davis Brothers AuctionFeb 11, 2026
We proudly operate in Montana and support our local community, employees, and consignors. Our responsibility is to them first. Shipping costs are calculated based on carrier rates, packaging materials, labor, insurance, and third-party fulfillment fees — not the sale price of the item. We do not inflate shipping based on what an item sells for. In fact, we make every effort to package items securely to prevent damage, which sometimes requires larger boxes than a buyer might expect. All bidders are informed prior to bidding that shipping, handling, and fulfillment costs are separate from the hammer price. Auctions are not retail transactions with built-in “free shipping.” We respond to inquiries in writing to maintain documentation, and during peak shipping windows there can be delays — but we do not ignore customers, nor do we “profit disproportionately” from fulfillment as suggested. We stand behind our process and our commitment to operating ethically and locally.

Davis Brothers Auctions buyer BEWARE!!
Just take a look at their Google reviews and BBB reviews these people will never return a phone call they will never answer the phone, return an email and they will never help you. Horrible horrible company do business elsewhere you'll be way better off you've been warned!! DID BUSINESS WITH THEM TWICE DISAPPOINTED AND FRUSTRATED BOTH TIMES!!

Davis Brothers AuctionFeb 11, 2026
We’re sorry you feel this way, but your description of events is simply not accurate. We respond to emails daily and maintain written communication for all transactions to ensure clarity and documentation. We do not conduct transaction disputes over the phone, which is standard practice in the auction industry. You have participated in two auctions with us. Both times, the terms and conditions were clearly presented prior to bidding. Auctions are not retail transactions, and all items are sold under the stated terms agreed to at registration. Disagreement with policy is not the same as lack of communication. We stand behind our process and our compliance with industry standards. Thousands of successful transactions each year reflect that.

shipping... yikes
two items $200 or so, shipping $200. Not acceptable. High shipping rate should be outlined in shipping area as it was so out of line to normal rates for in house shipping at most auctions I have participated in.

Communication after Auction Ended
After the auction ended, I was expecting some standardized e-mail from the Auction house giving details of shipping and an ETA of the item. I waited 11 days before I reached out. They responded in less than 24 hours, so I don't know if I had waited 12 days if they would have sent that information or if my e-mail prompted their e-mail. The information they sent was accurate and my item arrived before the ETA they gave. The item was everything I had hoped for and I believe the description of the item was perfect.

Unethical, refuses to communicate
Auction house posts minimal if an descriptions. Because I was aware of this from past auctions, I missed a notation in the description that an item was offered for sale to Montana residents only, although the sale was legal in both states and I have purchased automatic knives in the past from a number of other states including, but not limited to Indiana, Florida and New York !). None of the pictures contained the resteiction, nor did the listing title page. I have been attempting to get them to call me to discuss since Dec 10. I've left voice mail, email, and message through LiveAuctioneers with no response. Auction house would only state it was for Montana residents only. They kept the buyers premium (which I could live with) the item and the purchase price. Possibly legal, but highly unethical. I noticed in a subsequent auction that similar items were noted in the item title that they Montana Only. I advise stay away from this unethical behavior, in which they refuse to even enter into a discussion of a remedy that would not chase away a known repeat customer. What are they afraid of? They must already have too many customers!

I had to pay 1/3 of my purchase price, either because of LA or Davis. Don’t waste your $$
I got very good deals on these items but had to spend 1/3 of the total cost on shipping, around 20 lbs. at most. Because shipping ruins the bargain, I’m not going to used either this auction house of this auction site. Use EBay. You can get an estimated shipping through them and actually talk to the seller. Here no one answers your calls or emails and your card on file gets automatically deducted — a total rip off for stupid people. Adios LiveAuctioneers!!

These are not "Scottish Highland Bagpipes" as stated in the title or description
Received today, 12/03/2025. These are NOT "Scottish Highland Bagpipes" as stated in the title. They are Pakistan Bagpipes, and the truth of that is NOT evident from the photos, and was concealed by the photos. Therefore, the title is FALSE. Additionally, the pipes had insect "dirt dobbers" in each of the separate pipe sections that completely blocked the bores of each section of the pipes. Complete trash, and not acceptable.
