Great transaction and great packaging!

The citrine earrings I purchased are beautiful. The sterling silver setting had been polished and they had nice supportive backs that seemed to be new. I could not have been more pleased.

Item I bought was a reproduction. No where in the listing did it state that. It had the date of 1901 in the description. Book is in German and the second from last photograph of the listing shows the last page which in small German print says reproduction.

I purchased an item advertised as: “Indian Wars” through Davis Brothers Auctions. When I received the item, it was clearly marked on their own label: “Spanish-American War.” It was, indeed, Spanish-American War. Not as advertised. The two items are not interchangeable. When I pointed out to Davis Brothers Auctions their clear error (I even sent them a picture), they would not correct their mistake. Instead, they replied with their disclaimer: 'We will make every effort and put forth our due diligence to attempt to properly describe and represent items, however all items are sold on a buyer discretionary basis.' It is obvious that they did not do any ‘ diligence ’ or they would have read their own label. So, either they are dissembling regarding the effort they made, or they do not understand ‘ diligence. ’ Either way, when posed with an easily correctable error, Davis Brothers Auctions chose to hide behind their disclaimer and reinforce their incompetence and lack of concern for the customer. It should be noted that the caveat used by Davis Brothers Auctions to CYA – due diligence-would be the same for any purchase. In my case, their ‘ diligence ’ only cost me $130 + shipping + premium. So, no. I would not buy from Davis Brothers Auction again. Caveat Emptor

Won two items, paid for two items, and they sent one. Apparently they have decided to make laws that don't exist. Feckless is their customer service. They call for payment, took the whole payment and didn't bother to tell me they were only going to send half of what I won. When they returned my money for the second item, they shorted me. Take these folks off your list or you will probably be next.

Well let's handle the shipping thing first, after a week or so of not hearing anything, I wrote to Davis and they told me they were a small house and they had a big auction and I would have to wait. The item itself is not what was described. The green is not turquoise, and the entire center of the bracelet, looks like was rebuilt, and with what not sure. It is definitely not the work of Zuni, unless someone got half of the bracelet and then redid it. So you would think that since it is their biggest auction (or one of) they would have hired more people to work with getting the pieces out. That only makes sense. I am really disappointed not only in Davis but in LiveAuctioneers has items need much more of a scrutiny of it to be what they say. And if they don't know. They should say nothing or "Origin not known and materials not known."
