Prehistoric and Historic Artifact Auction

We are pleased to introduce the fine artifact collection of the late Merle Wasson. Merle put together a very fine collection of Midwestern Flint and broad selection of Paleo Points. Featured are a Knife River Clovis (Rogers COA), a Payson Chert Agate Basin (Davis COA) and a Rogers papered Cumberland fluted to the tip. This auction also contains one of the finest selections of pottery offered in years. A large Human Effigy, Spotted Painted Bottle and Panel Bottle (all pictured in Hathcock's Ancient Indian Pottery book accompany some rare effigy forms (Rabbit and Donut shaped) from the Kevin Farmer Collection. Gilbert Cooper continues to thin down his collection with additions of several documented pieces. One of the finest Knobbed Lunate Bannerstones ever found will be sold (pictured in Lutz). Several fine Hopewell pieces are in the auction, including a Monitor Base Pipe and large Hardstone Celt. One of the finest auctions of the year. Many of the artifact offered have been pictured in various publications. An unusually large number of the artifacts have COAs from independent, nationally recognized, authenticators. We hope you enjoy this sale as much as we did preparing it for publication.
