Silver & Objects of Vertu

The October Silver sale is the largest yet for the department, with large sections of Indian, Burmese and Persian silver, as well as two private collections of Iraqi nielloware - key specialisms for our Head of Silver & Objects of Vertu, John Rogers. Continental silver is also strongly represented, with a small selection of 17th century Norwegian, alongside early Russian, Dutch and German items, culminating with a highly coveted, unrecorded 18th century Maltese coffee pot. The range of English silver covers all major movements of the 20th century, alongside an exceptionally rare 17th century provincial piece, a coconut cup from the scarcely encountered town of Hull.
