Prehistoric and Historic Artifact Auction
Tony Putty Artifacts
We are pleased to Part II of two quality consignments in this auction. Mark Spangler has been an avid collector over the past 20 years. His collection contains a variety of artifacts. Mark also collected Mississippian and Quapaw pottery as well as a variety of flint (including his assemblage of Alibates). Dr. Glenn McQuaide is a professor of Biology in Kentucky. He was intested in artifacts for decades before putting his collection in storage some 10 years ago. Glenn's collection is full of good old relics mixed in with Kentucky Flint. His collection is well documented. You'll also see the remainder of the Richard Niehoff pottery collection and a larger consignment from the Burton/Teubner estate.
There are many pieces already with certificates of authenticity from respected authenticators. Dozens of there relics shown here have been documented in journals of books. This auction contains a number of fine Bannerstones made of Quartz, Porphyry and Hardstone. A very large Hardstone Birdstone once owned by Cameron Parks will be sold. Also want to note the one collection of Paleo points in this sale, most with COAs from the most desirable authenticators. What a great sale this turned out to be.
