Session 3 - Chinese Ceramics

The third day of Oakridge Auction Gallery?s Summer Chinese Art and Antiques sale focuses entirely on the famed art of Chinese ceramics and porcelain. This session contains treasures that align with any type of collection, from sancai-glazed figurines dating to the Tang dynasty to beautiful, multi-colored export porcelains of the 18th century through the Republic period. Of particular note are two Chongzhen period vases which have been converted into lamps - a rare example from this late Ming era. The manifold techniques of ceramic artists are on display in our selection of porcelain figurines, which represent the forms of Buddhas, Guanyin, animals, and more. A highlight of these figures is the large Ming dynasty sancai-glazed guardian originating from a renowned Pennsylvania collection. Included among these smaller items are a series of porcelain-based furniture items, including an elaborate pair of mother-of-pearl inlay chairs by Ao Shaoquan, several stools, and a large wooden table.
