NEW MEXICO NOW - DAY TWO

Santa Fe Art Auction?s annual sale dedicated to collectors of the esoteric enchantment that is New Mexico boasts 300 lots that span the diversity of this unique culture. Offerings include early furniture, paintings, carvings, tin smithing and artifacts that developed as local artisans mirrored the santos, trasteros, graneros, devotional paintings, and utilitarian trappings that came into the state from Spain, Mexico and South America starting around the 16th century; ?by the 19th and 20th centuries, these art forms were wholly and uniquely New Mexican, and the auction house is proud to present work by leading historic and contemporary New Mexican artisans, alongside wonderful furnishings and Americana that exemplify the ongoing migration from the eastern United States to the high desert communities of Taos and Santa Fe.
