This sale will feature selections from the estate of Jacquelyn Oak of
Shelburne,VT. Jackie was a well known folk art expert, researcher, author,
curator, & former registrar at the Shelburne Museum, including important
pieces descending from her father and grandfather- both doctors in La Porte,
Indiana. In addition, Merrill's is pleased to be offering a rare 19 th c Edo Period
full set of Ukiyo-e woodblock prints by Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858)
?Famous Sights of the Fifty-three Stations?, also known as the ?Vertical
Tokaido?, purchased in Japan in 1894 and descending in the family. Sixty lots
of fine jewelry will be offered, including several large diamond rings, as well
as an outstanding pair of John Paul Miller 18k ?cephalopod? earrings. This sale
will also feature an important collection of American Brilliant Period cut glass
from a serious Burlington, VT collector's estate.
