Feeling Nostalgic? Let's go back together! Rivich Auction is proud to present WHEN WE WERE YOUNG, a combination of multiple prominent estates throughout the United States. Most importantly, the estate of Mayor Robert Pastrick from East Chicago, Indiana. It is with great pride and honor that Rivich Auction offers this estate. Robert (Bob) Pastrick proudly served as Mayor of East Chicago, Indiana, from 1972 to 2004, making him the city’s longest-serving mayor. A graduate of Bishop Noll High School, he attended the University of Notre Dame before serving in the U.S. Army and later working in his family’s funeral home. Deeply active in Democratic politics, Pastrick was involved nationally as a delegate to multiple conventions and locally as a leader in civic and community organizations. He was married to his wife, Ruth Ann, for 62 years, and together they raised a large and loving family. Rivich Auction also presents you with a rare glimpse into an Alside pre-fab home. Founded in 1947 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Alside pioneered baked-enamel aluminum siding and became a leading name in durable, energy-efficient home materials. The company constructed model homes showcasing modern design- including the celebrated Frost House in Michigan City, Indiana, a rare surviving example of Alside’s vision for contemporary living. One family member’s fervent foresight to keep and hold in a collection the original contents from one of the most iconic, almost extinct, mid century homes in the United States, allows RA to present you this beautiful assortment. Also featured in this catalogue are exclusive pieces from the personal collection of a Playboy executive. Also, keep an eye out for more beautiful pieces from the fabulous collection of Christina Kraemer alongside other incredible estates.
