The December 2025 Online Only Auction features a focused offering of ancient glass, fine art, and decorative arts from several Michigan collections. A standout group of Roman glass vessels from a Bloomfield Hills estate includes unguentaria, jars, and vases in iridescent and pale green tones, with features such as flared lips, bulbous forms, prunts, and dimpled surfaces. Also from the same collection is an early 19th-century opaque glass sailing anchor marked 1813. Crystal and glass items are well represented, with pieces from Waterford, Baccarat, Rosenthal, Steuben, Orrefors, and Lalique. Highlights include a Lalique “Tete De Lion” smoking set, a “Coquilles” bowl, and a Steuben vase with Orrefors bowls. Decorative arts include Fabergé-style eggs, Limoges and Herend pill boxes, and a large collection of Lionel train accessories. Fine art offerings range from 18th-century engravings to late 20th-century works. Notable entries include an oil on canvas by Romek Arpad (Hungarian, 1883–1960), a Willi Bauer landscape, and portraits from both American and European schools. Contemporary works include a mixed media piece with human hair by Rosemary Meza-DesPlas and abstract watercolors and gouache by Jack Faxon, former Michigan Senator. Prints and multiples are led by woodblock prints from Kiyoshi Saito and Naoko Matsubara, and etchings by Nona Hershey and Gunter H. Korus. Additional highlights include a French chandelier, carved Florentine-style brackets, and a Meriden silverplate coffee urn. Autograph memorabilia includes signed photos and sheet music from Jane Russell, Bob Hope, and others. Property comes from the estates of Glen A. Carlson (Bloomfield Hills), Fred Kaplan (New York), and collectors in Brethren, Grosse Pointe Park, and Northville, MI.
