You should require auction halls to list more accurately, condition issues. I have noticed that when documents are in overall good condition auctions halls with list multiple pictures. When there are issues it is usually just one. The image they provided showed one damaged document (the one showing that a portion was cut even while folded. There were in fact 4 documents cut in this manner, along with 3 which were highly water stained one actually being wet when I opened the package. Of the lot 5 letters and one document had no specific issues. In my opinion the 4 cut documents are rendered worthless for resale in the future. Of the 3 stained document only 2 have minimal value with the third having no value. making a future re-coupe impossible. I am just at much at fault for not contacting them but I purchased from them before and was very satisfied with that purchase, so I felt comfortable the lot was being offered correctly. I had an issue with affiliated auctions more then a year ago which was a disaster I would never consider buying from that company again.... I would by from Wiederseims but would be more cautious because of this sale.

They were kind and courteous in their responses. My dissatisfaction came from the high premium and how little they did after the auction to earn it. For shipping, they provided contacts-nothing more. All the contacts were over priced. They charged 3 times what the US postal service flat rate box would have cost. I am ok with paying a fair premium to auction houses, but will now only bid with houses that provide in house shipping.

Great auction house. Owner is very well connected with his consignors, therefore he gets terrific lots to offer. Good mix of period goods, some good, some funky, some magnificent. I try to never miss a sale.

I wanted to know the age of the piece I bought but did not get a reply.

Was not happy at first about having to be 'vetted' to bid. I am local to the auction and just could not attend that day due previous obligation. Part of message left for me on my answer machine before being approved was about some nonsense about having to supply a letter from my landlord? I still don't understand what all that was about. Not too happy about the added fees for online bidding. I also did not like the lag time on bids. So in the future I am done with online bidding and will stick to attending auctions in person.

More detailed descriptions would be helpful.

A bobeche was missing and the manager was very helpful in looking for it and offering to reimburse me if I found a replacement. He was also distressed that the photo describing the lot might have hid the missing part. He is "good people".

Additional images of them would have been a bit more helpful. Which I find true for many auctions on this site.
