Beautiful collections and an easy shipping process with UPS!

very good experience

For such a prestigious auction house, my first experience with STAIR was extremely disappointing. Firstly, 1/2 of the items was not included in the shipment given to the UPS Store that was shipped to me and had to be found and shipped by STAIR at a later time. Secondly and not important of all was the condition of the dishes purchased which was overall very poor. These plates should have been donated to charity or kept by a family member but not auctioned at a premium.

My second purchase from Stair and I am very happy with my lovely Matisse etching. I have friends who have bought from them and all have nothing but good to say. They were, however, let down badly by their reccomended shippers, UPS Store # 4541, who tried to severely overcharge us for the freighting of the work to us in London.

All was fine. And, the packing & shipping of the prints by the UPS Store # 5539 in Hudson, N. Y. was Excellent. I would recommend them.

Item paid for but never received and NO answer to emails!!

my won lots were very accurately described, upon receipt I found them to exceed expectations (there is only so much even the best photography can achieve). Lovely after sale support for the arranging of shipping; i found their recommendations for shipping agents most helpful, and I'm very satisfied with the service supplied by the local agent (UPS in Hudson, NY) I selected. I look forward to fututre purchases from this auction house

The shipping exceeded the price of the item bought. It was shipped with freight rather than UPS. They told me, that UPS would not take it, although I received very similar items with UPS at 50 % of what I paid to the freight company.

Highly recommend following and purchasing from Stair Auctions in Hudson, NY. Their auction offerings are of the highest quality, excellent details provided pre-auction, the auction process is professional and personable, and the payment and shipping assistance is excellent.

I spoke with the folks at Stair Auctions about picking up the item on a day they were closed. They were very helpful and though I had the item shipped I would recommend Stair and look forward to dealing with them in the future.

Very happy with the bangle

The tapestry I bought was severely deteriorated condition in opposite to the displayed picture and condition brief, only two pictures were displayed one for front and one for the back showing no dameges no pitfalls and vibrent color. on the contrary the color is faded, and the condition is extremly bad on back and front of the tapestry. Its imposible to hang it will fell apart because its full of torn all around to add more bitterness to that purchase I wasted additional $800 to ship it internationally

Do not use UPS Store No. 5539. I had a slight problem with their communication re the shipping of my item. They were extremely rude and when they finally shipped the item did not bother to send me a notification or tracking number that it had been sent. Took me three weeks to receive the piece. The final straw was they had the wrong address on the shipping label. When I confronted them by email their response was "It was all MY fault." Truly unbelievable. I buy at auction frequently and, believe me, this was a first. I did notify Stair and they were extremely helpful in trying to solve the problem.

The purchase of two items from a recent Stair auction proved to be an unexpected pleasant experience. The courtesy and professional assistance given me was very impressive. Stair staff members made the experience pleasant and I am pleased that I participated in the auction process to acquire artworks.
