New Haven Auctions is an excellent auction house. Its objects are first rate and staff experienced, friendly and patient. Fred Giampietro has no peer when it comes to vetting and choosing the finest antiques and other objects for auction. The process went smooth and easy start to finish. I highly recommend bidding and buying at New Haven Auctions.

I’ve been ghosting auctions on Live Auctioneers for a couple of years (yep, long time. I would request approval and then not bid on anything). When I got an email from LA showing exceptional items from my saved searches I was pretty excited. There were pieces that would be perfect for my collection (aka: pieces to die for). I didn’t know if I’d win anything, but requested approval to bid and received it. I looked over some NHA’s reviews (very good). And I saw that their warehouse was about an hour’s drive away, so if needed, I could pick up my pieces in person. I definitely chose the right auction house to take the plunge. Photos of lots were ample and accurate. No problems with communication or payment. And wonder of wonders, the packaging and shipping were both professional and reasonably priced. My pieces were hundreds of years old and were treated with the care they required. I have zero complaints. Zero. The staff answered my questions promptly and patiently. This was a wonderful plunge! Any other auction house I bid with is going to be compared to New Haven Auctions, and they’ve set the bar very high.

Listed painting as “Excellent Condition” when in fact, it was completely and badly crazed throughout the entire canvas. I handed them the check, they handed me the painting and when I pointed out it’s damage, they only agreed to resell the painting without charge. I lost over $300. I’ve been buying from auctions for many years and have never been so blatantly ripped off.

The auction ran as expected with no surprises or confusion which indicates this house know what they're doing. As a distance bidder, I used their recommended shipper, the Village Express who far exceeded my expectation and made distance bidding a worry free breeze. I greatly appreciate it. Thankyou.
