(1895-1946) Nazi party official and politician who served as Gauleiter and Reichsstatthalter of Baden, and Chief of Civil Administration for Alsace during the German occupation of France in World War II. Executed by the French for war crimes. Rare A.D.S. on an 1p. oblong 8vo. sheet while a prisoner of the Americans, Oct. 18, 1945, in German and in pencil. Wagner acknowledges that the signature he subscribes is indeed his own, actual signature and arrogantly adds his ex-title at bottom: 'Gauleiter and Reichsstatthalter'. Fine.
