Measuring just over 12", this one-of-a-kind bobber comes in a very rare color: green, yellow, red and white stripes. In near excellent condition with only a few age lines, a nick on the matching top cork ball and a small spot of stray paint. Dating from the 1950's, this important piece from the Ideal Fishing Float Company of Richmond, Virginia, was originally purchased from a long time employee of the company. The gentleman was employed for decades as a float painter, over the years occasionally painting examples for himself, using stock and custom colors, and producing floats in non-catalog patterns and sizes, such as this example. The original bobbers made by this individual are some of rarest known and certainly the most coveted by serious collectors.
