Crystal Chess Table, height 28.5cm, diameter 47cm. A noble study or ritual vessel from the Han to Wei-Jin dynasties, a chess set carved from natural crystal, a high-grade ritual vessel. Made of natural crystal with transparent texture and natural flocculent inclusions, painted with mineral pigments (red, green, black) on the surface. Square table with four splayed legs, the front painted with Tai Chi diagram and both sides with red camel patterns; matched with crystal chess pieces, crafted by polishing and painted with patterns, a product of the integration of ancient "crystal craftsmanship" and Taoist culture. Han to Wei-Jin dynasties (2nd century BC–5th century AD). A rare relic of ancient chess culture and crystal craftsmanship. The painted Tai Chi diagram and camel patterns witness the spread of Taoism and Silk Road cultural exchanges in the Han Dynasty with extremely high academic value.
