Polish school. Oil on canvas.
Brandt studied in Warsaw at JN Leszczynki and the Noblemen's Institute as an engineer. In 1858 he moved to Paris to study at Ecole Centrale Paris and left engineering.
He studied in Munich under Franz Adam and Karl Piloty. Worked also in Paris. Established himself at Munich, where he was a professor at the Academy. Medals: Munich, 1869; Vienna 1873; Berlin, 1876.
