Circa 1894-1904, French faience pottery jardiniere with two side handles and overall rich colorful decoration, showing a scene with figures on one side and two lions holding the crests of Brittany and of Quimper beneath a shared crown, marked with a trefoil conjoined "PB" en serif on the bottom
h. 5 w. 16 d. 8-1/2 in.
Provenance: From the estate of the late Joan E. Black, Bronxville, NY; Mrs. Black was a friend of Sandra V. Bondhus, author of "Quimper Pottery: French Folk Art Faience," and often purchased items from auctions that Ms. Bondhus cataloged.
