Fine, antique, Chinese, Mughal style, celadon jade, paste round box. 19th cent. This beautifully carved box , probably used for seal paste, a flower on top, with a small ruby set inside the petals.

EDWARD FARMER STERLING BOX W/ CELADON CHINESE JADE BELT PLAQUES An unusually large example of an early 20th C. Edward Farmer Sterling Silver, Silver Gilt, Covered Rectangular Footed Box With Ming Dynasty Chinese Pale Celadon Jade Pierced Belt Plaques to the top and Carved Ming Chinese Pale Celadon Jade panels to the sides, back and front. Edward Farmer, New York. The Jade Belt Plaques measure 5 5/8 X 2 5/8" (each) and are fitted to the top. Each belt plaque is intricately carved with Clawing Dragons and Foliage. The front, back and side Celadon Jade Panels consist of a pair of panels to each side (8 in total). Each of the panels is ornately carved with Foliage, Birds, Butterflys and Flowers. Each of the front and back panels measure 10 X 1 1/8" (4 in total) with each of the side panels measuring 3 X 1 1/8" (4 in total). Top is hinged. Possibly a humidor or cigarette box. The box is compartmented by 2 removable sterling silver dividers. Box marked to bottom: "Edward Farmer New York". Overall good condition with minor loss to the belt plaques and a crack to one of the interior glass panels of the top.
