A small German silver-gilt tankard with cover, Augsburg, David Eh(e)kirch (Master 1601-13), 1610-13Silver, gilt. Flaring stepped foot. Of nearly conical form, the exterior embossed with fruit garlands and rocailles on stippled ground. The domed lid decorated en suite. Two engraved coats of arms at centre. Baluster finial. Volute handle with harpy thumbpiece. The underside with zigzag line, assayer's mark and master mark. Dimensions 12.5 x 12 x 9.6 cm, weight 341 g. Cf. Seling vol. III, no. 33, p. 1147.Condition: II +
