Description
AN OLIVE GREEN-GLAZED JAR AND A SLIP-DECORATED 'PEACH' VASE
Tang and Ming Dynasty
The jar with a globular body rising to a waisted neck and everted rim, covered with an olive green glaze terminating above the foot, revealing the buff body; together with a baluster slip-decorated vase, with stylised peach decoration.
The vase: 31.5cm (12 3/8in) high (2).

Provenance: The jar: Bluett & Sons Ltd., London, 1961 (invoice).
Condition
General signs of rub and wear and minor firing imperfections. Nibbles, flake and missing to the glaze.

Tang jar: large area of rubbing to the glaze on the body and flaking around the mouth rim. Chip to the foot rim approx. 1.3cm long.

Vase: starcrack to the shoulder, approx. 9x8cm. A possible small colour retouch or misfiring flashing under UV light to the left of the crack. External chip to the mouth approx. 3cm long, internal chip to the rim approx. 1cm wide.
