Kangxi period, Qing dynasty
Large vase with a lengthy poem and seal to two opposite sides and riverside landscape to remaining two. Each landscape scene features well-dressed men under a constellation. The shoulder of the vessel is accented at each corner by delicate floral motifs. With six-character mark to underside.
H: 17 7/8, W: 6 1/2 in. (H: 45.40, W: 16.51 cm.)
Provenance: From Mr. Chang, a Chinese-American antiques dealer with 60 years of experience in the field. With ground down rim, crack to rim, firing defects to neck, firing crack to upper body, old chip to foot, star crack crack to foot corner, and drill hole with metal attachment and crack to underside.
