Item Details
Description
A 1950s Migma Meister guitar possibly made by Herbert Todt, sunburst finish. Owned and played by Randy Bachman, who has sold 40 million records worldwide as a member of The Guess Who, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, and as a solo artist.
Highly regarded as one of the top craftsmen of the era, Herbert Todt made some guitars under his own name as well as for distributors like Migma and Musima. It does appear to have Todt’s aesthetic flourishes.
A seven-pronged black design on a white plastic headstock overlay, with six apparently replaced tuners with Kluson-style double ring buttons. Five-ply white and black string guide nut with zero fret on a bound rosewood fretboard with 20 frets and mother of pearl Lyre inlays. Seven piece maple neck. A carved spruce top with multi-ply binding and mother of pearl inlays on a dark purfling, sickle-shaped sound holes, and flame maple back and sides with multi-ply binding. The sides are painted to resemble a multi-piece construction, but the grain runs through the light and dark areas. Adjustable ebony bridge with harp tailpiece.
Includes soft-shell case.
