Giò Pomodoro,(1930-2002) was a prominent Italian sculptor, printmaker, and stage designer, He hailed from a family deeply immersed in the world of sculpture, with his brother being none other than the renowned sculptor Arnaldo Pomodoro.In 1954, Pomodoro made a pivotal move to Milan, where he swiftly integrated himself into the vibrant avant-garde artistic scene. Initially known for his exquisite jewelry creations, he soon diversified his artistic repertoire by delving into reverse reliefs in clay and assembling various materials such as wood, textiles, and plaster, later cast in metal with remarkable finesse.Throughout the 1960s, Pomodoro's artistic journey took him through several series of sculptures, each exploring abstract shapes characterized by smooth, undulating surfaces.
