Description
Antique Art Nouveau hand-painted bowl with pierced handles, by Noritake Porcelain Company, 1910s. Marked "Hand Painted, Nippon" and 'M' in wreath, the mark introduced in 1911 and used until 1921 ['Japan' substituted 'Nippon' in 1921].
'M' in wreath stands for Morimura Brothers, the founders of Noritake Porcelain. [reference: Van Patten #47].
The bowl is c. 6.1/4" x 6.3/4", c.2" deep [15.9cm x 17.1cm x 5.1cm]; some gold trim wear, no chips, no cracks, no hairlines, no repairs, very good/ fine condition. See photos.
