Pair of vintage A.C. Gilbert Erector Sets, including a Science Career Series #10057 (Sears) and an American Science Series #10055, both Electric Engine Sets. Each housed in its original two-tone painted metal box with bold period graphics. Interiors feature steel construction parts, gears, pulleys, base plates, and electric motors, along with instruction manuals and small accessories. Both sets have not been collated for completeness and are being sold with what is shown. Attractive examples from Gilbert's early 1960s educational line reflecting the company's emphasis on engineering and science. Metal boxes show only light surface wear consistent with age. Cases measure approx. 16.5" x 10" x 3".From the remarkable lifetime Collection of Michael Kent.
